Walter van Dusen, M.Photog. Cr., CPP I love photographing weddings that are little different. I like to get to know you before your wedding so that I'm not just the photographer, but instead, someone with a vested interest in telling your wedding story. "Photographing weddings from an insider’s point of view" Photography has been a passion of mine since high school. While I was stationed onboard a fast attack submarine, I went to many different countries and had my trusty camera with me. My daughter Hannah was born in 1996 and of course, I became a "Dad with Camera" In 1997 I realized that I wanted to pursue my dreams of becoming a professional photographer. I went to photography school, workshops, seminars, mentoring sessions, assisted other photographers, and just plained became a sponge. I fell in love with weddings and have been on a quest for knowledge ever since. My goal is to see more at weddings. Going beyond what is just in front of me, looking around and finding the moments that no one expects me to see. All of my competition prints and albums are from real events. I'm a three-time winner of Connecticut Photographer of the Year, two time Connecticut and New England Best in Show Wedding Album, Professional Photographers of America Loan Collection Prints x3, recipient of five Connecticut and New England Court of Honors Awards, Kodak Gallery Award Wedding Images x6, Fuji Masterpieces for Prints awards x2 and several other wedding album and print awards. I don’t photograph for awards, but I welcome judgment by my peers so that I can produce the best possible images and albums for you.
